Colour in the Home

As the winter months loom I am finding I am adding more and more colour to my home. Maybe I am trying to subconsciously create a warmer space to live in, knowing that soon it will be very, very cold. I love the colourful rooms above, especially the turquoise floorboards and the open fire place in designer Kathryn Ireland's home. I'm going to keep an eye out for little birdies like the ones above for our tree in the shop.

Tickled Pink

                           I love the pink and white striped curtains

                          Combining my love of both turquoise and pink!

After all shades of blue, turquoise and aqua, my next favourite colour in decorating is pink. Whether it be a beautiful baby pink or a gorgeous cerise, I love it all.

Loving Turquoise Again

I've done it before, a post dedicated to turquoise and I'm doing it again. It seems that I am constantly attracted to anything turquoise. I love this colour, it always looks so fresh when mixed with white or black, and great against colours.

I've been wanting a red wooden chair of late and this want was highlighted by Rachael's post over at La maison sur la colline about a splash of red. I have decided I am going to paint an old white chair I have at home and see how it looks. This poor chair has been apple green, aqua, pink and now white. Let's see how it goes in red. In the meantime here are some pieces of coloured furniture that I love.

Has anyone else noticed how much colour seems to be creeping into our homes and fashion trends lately? I'm a huge Missoni fan and have never been shy of adding colour in my house, so I'm loving this current passion for colour. Whether it be bold mirror frames or whole walls, or just some colourful throw cushions, I love it! Now if I could only afford that Missoni rug......
