Shelving

I would love built-in shelving throughout my living room and dining/family rooms like the images above. It's a great way to show of all the bits and pieces you have collected over the years plus fantastic for storage. And there is something really cosy and homely about built-in shelving. The bottom photo is of built-in shelving I have in my bathroom at the moment, it's one of my favourite places to show things off and constantly rearrange depending my mood.

I've been wanting a red wooden chair of late and this want was highlighted by Rachael's post over at La maison sur la colline about a splash of red. I have decided I am going to paint an old white chair I have at home and see how it looks. This poor chair has been apple green, aqua, pink and now white. Let's see how it goes in red. In the meantime here are some pieces of coloured furniture that I love.

Possibly a little hard to drink your hot chocolate out of, but oh so pretty!

I love hot chocolate once the weather turns and over the last couple of days there has definitely been an autumn chill in the air. So this weekend I'll be sitting back with a good book and a hot chocolate. And hot chocolate is even better when sipped from a beautiful tea cup like the ones above. Hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Parental Guidance

I loved this feature in Domino Magazine about mum and daughter decorating, and whether or not they have similar decorating taste. In some you can see a lot of similarities and influences, and in others they are so different. I know with my sister and I there are some similar tastes we share with our mum, but then all of us can be so different in the looks we choose. Also how beautiful is that aqua bookcase and the aqua foyer door. Love them!

I was checking out the blog Please Sir this morning and came across these great images of clustered art. I have a very blank wall at home that needs help and I've been thinking of doing something along the lines of this. It reminded me of a tear sheet I have in my file of Alannah Hill's home and her wall of vintage paintings. We did something a little similar in the shop with vintage Golden Books.

Little Jane Street

We love Alarna's creations over at Little Jane Street, so much so, that we have decided to stock her creative cards at the Enchanted Closet. The first order should be arriving next week so keep an eye out. Here's a few of her lovely designs.
