You're Invited!

Well the time has come to open the doors of the new Enchanted Closet at 1087 High St, Armadale, Victoria.

We'd like to extend an invite to all of the Enchanted Closet's readers to join us for a few champagnes and sweet treats this coming Saturday 5th September anytime between 2-5pm. We're also offering 15% off everything in the new store to celebrate the opening.

If you can attend, make sure to seek me out and say hi on the day. I'd love to see you there. Katex

P.S. Sorry about the lack of posts over the last week - it's been one of those weeks.

Paumes Books

Next week will see the arrival of some gorgeous books all the way from Japan. The Paumes series are published by the Tokyo company, Jeu de Paume. They're bright and beautiful, and we'll be stocking them in both stores. If you're interested in any of the books write to me at

Stylist - Laurence Pasquier

I love the work of interior stylist, Laurence Pasquier. Her styling is feminine with a quirky edge and she uses colour so well. Dividing her time between London and Paris, I think you can see a strong French influence in her work.  For more of her work check out

Dustjacket Attic

One of my favourite blogs at the moment is Dustjacket Attic. This blog features stunning photography and beautiful imagery, with gorgeous actress pictorials and fashion shoots.

I love checking out the Image of the Day. It's always a picture that's new to me and is always jaw droppingly beautiful. So visit for your daily dose of beauty.

Summer Holidays

We are trying to hunt down a little cottage on the Victorian coast to stay in over the Christmas break. But I think we may have left it a little late as most places are booked out or super expensive. Wouldn't it be lovely to find something like this little cottage.....

Beautiful Butterflies

There are butterflies all over the house at the moment, and my study is looking gorgeous with them hanging from the curtains. Hopefully all goes to plan and the shop display looks as beautiful as Agata Blu!

Beautiful Inspiration - Agata Blu

I love visiting gorgeous shops and searching through images online or in magazines for inspiration for our own shop and window displays. A few weeks ago I did a post about how we were going to use lanterns in the new shop window for our Spring opening. But after seeing this image from Italian store Agata Blu, we changed our minds. Now we're busily making butterflies and trying to think of the perfect saying to have inscribed in gold.

The Agata Blu window display won an award for it's environmental message 'The beauty will save the World', their window depicting rubbish cast aside in the foreground, in stark contrast to the gorgeous clothing and butterflies.

We won't be making any social commentary but we hope our display looks just as beautiful.

In A Tangle

As a lover of all things sparkly and pretty, I have a fair collection of necklaces and earrings hanging around the house. They are stored in little dishes in my bathroom and bedroom, can be found hanging from the door handle of whatever room I took it off in or just thrown neglectfully into a top draw somewhere.

What I need is a solution for my tangle of jewels that is both pretty and practical. Which got me searching for ideas and here are some of them. Let me know which ones you love or what you have done yourself at home.

A Magic Makeover!

A few coats of paint, new fabric and three new seats!

Before the makeover - $10 from The Salvation Army

Today I'm sharing some D.I.Y., however I can't take credit for this job! My sister in-law just emailed me through a project she worked on over the weekend. She picked up these old brown stools from The Salvation for $10, for all three. Then she set about sanding, painting and recovering the seats in Paula Prass' Garden Trellis in aqua. I think they look fabulous!

Night Light

Many years ago I bought myself a manual SLR and took a photography course. One of my favourite assignments was light at night photography, and trying to catch the light using different photographic styles. These images do this perfectly.

I've mentioned photography duo Our Blog of Love before and how amazing their work is. If you love photography you should check out their blog, along with The Image is Found. Both are seriously good.

Bedroom Inspiration!

I'm currently contemplating redecorating my bedroom so I've been saving a whole lot of pics of bedrooms that take my fancy. This bedroom makeover belongs to Alison from Frou Frou Fashionista and is by far one of my favourites. So gorgeous, pink and girly. Loving her use of Rubie Green fabric and the Jen Ramos'  Made By Girl 'Love' print (which we'll be stocking in the new Armadale store).

Home Envy!!

Interior designer, Debbie Cronin's Bondi home is featured in this months Real Living (September 2009) and I love it!

Debbie has managed to mix old with new, such as Philippe Starck 'Louis Ghost' chairs with a distressed French armoire and antique chandeliers, all in one room. The artwork by Sydney artist Jennifer Keeler-Milne shown in the first pic is stunning, as is the 18th century antique bed, which was painted a matt black to give it a more modern look.

For me this home is near perfect, whimsy but modern but still allowing an individual style to shine through. I'll be looking out for more of Debbie Cronin's work in the future.
