My weekend project is to paint an old chest which has been used for years to house my son's toys. It's about to get a new life with a fresh coat of paint and cushion, and it will be placed under my study window and used as a window seat. I'm taking my inspiration from the gorgeous pictures above of built in window seating. I love the whole concept of window seating, somewhere lovely to sit, great storage and looks fabulous.

Window seats are one of my favourite things - they make me want to curl up with a cup of tea and read a great book or beautiful magazine... maybe it is a good thing we don't have any in this house as I might never get anything done! Gorgeous photos.

Am very fond of window seats myself, can't wait to see after pictures of the toy chest!
Ooooh, I love all of those photos! I think my favorite might be the last one, but they're all amazing.
I love, love, love the first picture - really gorgeous and so family friendly... And the third one lets in so much light to the little kitchen. Gorgeous!!
My old house in Sydney had a window seat... miss it sometimes! Love the lanterns in the 1st photo... so pretty x
