Side Table Project
I finished the $8 side table over the weekend and I love how it's come up. It's the perfect addition for the lounge room where it will eventually reside.

Weekend Joy
Well I've just about finished work for the week and now I'm off home to start the housework that has been left to pile up over the week. But after that's all done I'm going to get out and enjoy the stunning weather we're experiencing at the moment. Have a great weekendx

What to Wear, What to Wear??
It's an age old question and one that does my head in every morning (or if I'm organised, the night before). What am I going to wear today? Some days I do it with ease and I'm happy with the end result but most days it's a trial. Like this morning, the weather wasn't sure if it was warm or cold, I wasn't sure what I felt like wearing, was it a pants day or dress day and my trusty fail proof dress was in the wash. So after many changes in front of the mirror, where nothing was right, I'm now at work in an outfit I normally wouldn't leave the house in. I can safely say it's a bad outfit day today!

A Bit on the Side.
I bought this little side table from an op-shop for about $8. It was an awful dark brown and I painted a few coats of primer on it to see how I liked it white. But I've decided to go with duck egg blue in a semi gloss to add some colour. I'll post photos when it's finished.

It's Oscars Time!
The red carpet has started for the 2010 Academy Awards and here's one of my favourites so far. Nicole Richie in a gorgeous Reem Acra sequinned gown. This girl can't put a fashion foot wrong at the moment.

Finally I started.....
I finally got around to starting the cluster art wall at home that I've been talking about doing for ages. I've got a lot more to do but I'm loving it so far.

My favourite coffee table book at the moment is Kelly Wearstler's new one, Hue. Not only does it look beautiful but it is also full of her inspiring design. Let me know if you're interested in buying the book, we have sold out in store but are placing another order soon.

What a Find
Have a look at this for a great find. My sister in-law picked this up from her local op shop for $30. She's thinking of painting it a deep navy blue and putting cane baskets on the bottom shelf. What do you think?

Summer Leaves
I found the first of fallen Autumn leaves in the garden yesterday, signaling the start of cooler weather to come. So I thought I'd document the fall this year. So here are some badly taken shots of the garden (taken on my phone and the bottom one of the front garden is taken through fly wire - sorry!). I'll take some more pictures when the leaves start to turn, which is my favourite time of year.

What a difference new fabric makes. A friend of mine just had this old chair recovered and the end result is fantastic.

A Love of Blue and White
I know I've posted about blue and white before and how much I love it. But I found some new pictures the other day which inspired me all over again.

It's Complicated
I went and saw the new movie It's Complicated over the weekend. Not only was the movie a laugh but the set design was beautiful, especially the home of Meryl Streep's character. This is the work of the team behind that amazing Hamptons beach house in Somethings Gotta Give. They've created an earthy and cosy setting that you just want to move straight into.

Arabella Ramsay's Home: Instyle May 2009
A few doors down from our shop in High St, Armadale is the store of fashion designer, Arabella Ramsay. Arabella is known for her quirky, individual fashion and I can't walk past her shop window without coveting something. Her style is not only evident in her boutique but also in her Melbourne home, which was featured in the May 2009 edition of Instyle. Arabella grew up in the country and retains a strong link to her rural background, citing her mum's love of craft as a huge influence. I love how her home melds many styles together and retains a highly individual look, very much like her fashion.
